ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will host the ‘3rd Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) Attorneys/Prosecutors General Conference’ at Islamabad from January 30 to 31. The meeting is an integral part of Pakistan’s obligation as the current chair of ECO. Pakistan chaired the 13th ECO Summit held in Islamabad on March 1, 2017.
Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani would be the chief guest at the inaugural session of the conference while ECO member countries would be represented by attorneys/prosecutors general.
ECO Secretary General Halil Ibrahim Akca would lead the delegation of the ECO Secretariat.
Pakistan, being a founding member and the current Chairman of ECO, had extended its full support to ECO initiatives. Pakistan had always played an active role to ensure regional integration and interconnectivity amongst the member states.
Pakistan had also supported and encouraged different ECO initiatives to ensure steady progress on different fronts. The country had also been working towards the implementation of the agreements in the Islamabad Declaration and Vision 2025 adopted on March 1, 2017.
