KARACHI: A nurse was mysteriously found dead on Monday near the Seaview beach within the jurisdiction of Boat Basin police station in Karachi, the police said.
Musarat Bibi, 50, was recovered from the beach after which her body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities to determine the actual cause of her death.
Clifton Superintendent Police (SP) Tauqeer Naeem told a private media outlet that according to the initial reports, no torture marks were found on victim’s body.
The SP further said that the deceased was working as a medical assistant at various houses in Clifton.
He said that a murder case has been registered against unknown suspects on the complaint of the victim’s brother. Police have seized the deceased’s mobile phone for investigation purpose, he added.
The victim’s brother informed the police that Musarat Bibi had left home for her job in Clifton on Sunday, but did not return home.
The police officer said police the cause of death seems to be suspicious, however, the investigation officers are waiting for the post-mortem examination report to initiate a probe into the matter.
