JI to hold grand Jirga against Rao Anwar in Karachi

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Naeem-ur-Rehman announced on Monday to hold a grand Jirga on January 31 in Sohrab Goth, where the party leadership along with the family members of Naqeebullah Mehsud will be announcing their further course of action.

Addressing a press conference here at the Idara Noor-e-Haq, he said that the JI had held a Jirga in 2015 in the same area and on the same issue of extra-judicial killings.

Naeem said that Rao Anwar will have to present himself for accountability. He added that not only the police officer but his supporters and those who were patronizing him should also be brought to justice.

He demanded from CM Murad Ali Shah and Pakistan People’s Party high-ups to ensure that Rao Anwar does not dodge the system. He said that the federal government should be approached in case Anwar has already fled from the country.
