KARACHI: Voice for Missing Persons of Sindh (VMPS) activists, along with victim families, on Sunday staged a sit-in outside Karachi Press Club (KPC) against the enforced disappearances of political activists and students from Sindh.

The family members of missing persons including Hidayat Lohar, Khadim Hussain Areejo, Inam Abbasi, Nangar Channa and Deedar Amrat reached KPC along VMPS representatives Sassui Lohar, Sarang Lohar and Neelam Areejo held the protest for recovery of the missing persons.

Sassui Lohar said that her father had gone missing 10 months ago but there was no clue about his whereabouts yet. She appealed to the chief justice of Pakistan to help recover her father.

Sassui claimed that at least 50 political activists, students, writers, poets and journalists have gone missing but Senate of Pakistan has not taken any action for their recovery. She said the families of missing persons had been facing worst conditions as they were the breadwinners of the families.

The affected families also appealed to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Senate of Pakistan, Amnesty International and law enforcement agencies to play their due role in the recovery of missing persons.
