LAHORE: The Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) Lahore Project Director, Hammad-ul-Hasan on Sunday said that the train would provide high-class transport facility to some 250,000 passengers daily.
Talking to the media, he said that the project had entered into its completion phase, adding all 26 train stations had been completed as per international standards, including facilities for citizens with special needs.
He said that the 10-foot-wide walkway at every station would be a relief for passengers. “Feeder buses would also be run to accommodate a passenger who could not approach the train directly,” said Hammad.
National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) General Manager Salman Hafeez told the media recently that 77.8 pc of civil works and 30 pc of electrical and mechanical works had been completed.
The progress on Package-I (from Dera Gujjaran, Grand Trunk Road to Chowburji) was 87.3 pc, on Package-2 it was 62 pc, on Package -3 (Depot near Dera Gujjaran) was 82.3 pc and on Package-4 (stabling yard near Ali Town) 81.4 pc.
