ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police arrested 19 outlaws, including eight gamblers, and recovered arms, drugs, stake money and other valuables during separate actions in different areas of the federal capital on Sunday.
Under supervision of Sihala police station SHO Inspector Shaukat Ali, the police team comprising Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Gulfraz, ASI Zulfiqar Ahmed along with others raided the gambling den in Bahria Town and arrested eight gamblers red-handed, besides recovering stake money of Rs71,910, two laptops, 23 mobile phones, computer, LED, dish receivers, calculators, and gambling tools from them.
The nabbed persons were identified as Muhammad Imran, Tariq Mehmood, Ziaul Hassan, Shiraz, Javed, Irfan, Arif, and Sajjad. ASI Zulfiqar Ali arrested two impersonators Adeel Iqbal and Ghulam Abbas and recovered a fake card and wireless set from their possession.
SI Muhammad Gulfraz recovered 500-gramme hashish from the possession of an accused Tariq.
Furthermore, Inspector Muhammad Ashraf recovered one 30 bores illicit pistol along with ammunition.
SI Walayat Khan from Aabpara police station arrested accused Faisal Gull and recovered 110-gramme heroin from his possession whereas SI Muhammad Ashraf from Secretariat police station arrested Asif Mehmood and recovered 260-gramme hashish from him.
SI Zahid Akhtar from Kohsar police station arrested a drug pusher Sajjad Iqbal and recovered 600-gramme hashish and 100-gramme heroin from him.
ASI Raees from Kohsar police station arrested accused Arif Saleem and recovered 20 litres of wine from him. ASI Muhammad Ramzan from Karachi company police arrested accused Fayyaz Ishaq and recovered 10 wine bottles from him.
Furthermore, Ramana police station official arrested accused Sajjad Ahmed and recovered 1,490-gramme hashish from his possession, while ASI Attaullah from Sabzi Mandi police station arrested accused Asif Ali and recovered snatched cash from his custody.
Separate cases were registered for all incidents at police stations concerned and an investigation was launched.
