CHAKDARA: Advisor to Prime Minister Amir Muqam Saturday said that the people would decide the eligibility or ineligibility of the politicians in the upcoming general elections in 2018 through their votes.

“Imran Khan is seeking the office of the premiership by visiting ‘pirs’,” he said while addressing a public meeting here. The people of Dir should vote for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the elections in order to bring them into the national mainstream of development and ensure their welfare, he added.

The Jamaat-e-Islami remained in government with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) in the province for five years but did nothing for Dir district where they enjoyed considerable mandate of the masses, Muqam alleged.

He also said that the PML-N government without taking mandate in the area completed 220KV Chakdara Grid Station costing Rs3.5 billion, approved laying of Sui gas pipeline from Mardan to Chakdara, made the Chakdara-Chitral-Gilgit route as part of CPEC, constructed Lowari tunnel costing Rs28 billion and improved Chakdara-Chitral road with the financial assistance of Korean Bank. He assured the people about the provision of gas to entire Adenzai tehsil, adding that construction work on gas project at Adenzia has been started.

Electric feeder at village Ouch would be completed soon, he said.

Muqam told the people that Chakdara bypass road would be included in federal PSDP this year. “The PML-N has taken the burden of developing neglected Dir district while the PTI government in KP is busy in mudslinging against the opponents,” he said, alleging that the KP chief minister was not treating other districts like his home district Nowshera.
