KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities in Sindh have started an investigation against the Sindh Health Secretary Fazlullah Pechuho and other officials for alleged corruption in various health programmes and several other areas in the health sector, reported a local English daily.

The NAB has reportedly asked the secretary to produce a record of seven officials of Sindh health department, including two additional secretaries Rehan Iqbal Baloch and Jamaluddin Jalalani, deputy secretary Dadlo Zuhrani and four others, before a NAB investigator on Monday.

Fazlullah Pechuho is being accused of corruption ever since he was appointed, according to an official of the NAB Sindh. On the directives from NAB Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal, NAB has already launched an investigation against Pechuho for misuse of powers.

According to a senior NAB official, due to the extent of corruption in the health and education departments, two separate teams of investigations had to be formed.
