Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Dr Farooq Sattar on Saturday said that former senior superintendent of police Rao Anwar might be using Bilawal House in Karachi to elude law enforcement authorities; therefore, the authorities must search the House.

Speaking at a private TV channel on Friday, the MQM-P chief alleged that Rao Anwar was the blue-eyed official of the Sindh government. He said, “Despite several transfers over complaints, Anwar kept coming back to lead the police department.”

Urging the authorities to punish Naqeeb’s killers, Sattar said that the government needs to outline a proper policy regarding police encounters in the province.”

“Asif Ali Zardari should be held accountable for such incidents that happen right under his nose,” he said.

The MQM-P chief went on to say that his party suffered the most due to enforced disappearances and extra-judicial killings in the country.

“State operations in Karachi are meant to convey the message that since the judiciary cannot convict criminals, this licence is issued,” he added.

Earlier in the day, the chief justice issued a three-day deadline to Sindh Police to arrest Rao Anwar in the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.

Naqeebullah, a 27-year-old native of Waziristan, was among four suspected terrorists killed in an ‘exchange of fire’ with a police team led by the then-Malir SSP Rao Anwar on January 13 in Shah Latif Town, Karachi.
