Seven injured in road accidents as fog envelops plains of Punjab

LAHORE: At least seven people were injured as heavy fog blanketed plains of Punjab on Friday morning.

A passenger bus overturned near Dera Ghazi Khan due to low visibility leaving seven people injured.

Motorway police advised people to avoid travelling due to low visibility, adding that people should use fog lights while driving cars.

Early on Thursday, fog-related traffic accidents led to the death of one individual and several others getting injured in various cities of Punjab.

Dense fog enveloped most of Punjab plains on Thursday morning, affecting the visibility range and causing problems for normal life.

One man- as yet unidentified- was killed in a road accident in Toba Tek Singh and a score of people were injured after at least 10 vehicles crashed into each other on Kasur Road in Lahore.

Similarly, several people sustained injuries when a passenger van and bus turned turtle in Rahim Yar Khan and Sheikhupura respectively.

Moreover, various sections of the Motorway were closed for all kind of vehicular traffic due to dense fog. The commuters and vehicle drivers were advised to drive vehicles cautiously on the road and turn on fog lights while driving.
