ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada has requested Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Muhammad Balighur Rehman to initiate an inquiry into the matter of FBISE’s staying out inter-board sports competitions at the sports complex in the federal capital.
In a letter to the education minister, Riaz Hussain Pirzada said that Pakistan Sports Board organises inter-board sports competitions every year, wherein almost all the boards of technical and intermediate secondary education participate in different sports disciplines.
The event is highly significant and provides opportunities to the youth to show muscles and demonstrate their skills in different games. It is not only a sports event but an expression and demonstration of solidarity by the youth participating across the country, Pirzada said.
Surprisingly this time Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) is not participating in the current event due to the reasons unknown, he added.
He further said that it is a matter of serious concern that the FBISE has chosen to stay out of these games which is counterproductive because so many talented players have been deprived of showing their potential.
“The irresponsible act of FBISE warrants an inquiry. It is, therefore, requested that an inquiry may be initiated into the matter which has done a lot of harm to the cause of sports,” said the IPC minster.
