Rape accused killed in fake encounter proven innocent

KASUR: After the main accused of the rape and murder cases of 8 minor girls being arrested, an incident from the past has raised eyebrows on the credibility of the Sadar area police of Kasur, which murdered an innocent person in a fake counter on charges of rape with a 4-year-old girl.

As per the details revealed by the DNA test, Imran Arshad had kidnapped, raped and murdered a minor girl Emaan Fatima on February 24, 2017, in the jurisdiction of the Saddar police station.

At that time, the then SHO Younas Dogar and former DPO Ali Nasir Rizwi had failed to trace the accused and the people of Kasur had protested against the officers. Due to its failure to apprehend the actual culprit and increasing pressure of an angry mob, the Kasur police had arrested a married person named Mudassar and killed him in a fake encounter.

The family of the deceased protested against the police, but the Saddar police pressurised them and also nominated Mudassar’s brother in the first information report (FIR) of the fake encounter while naming it a murder.

According to the FIR, Mudassar was a robber, and his brother Adnan, as well as another relative, was involved in his alleged murder.

Now that the notorious Imran Arshad’s involvement in the rape and murder case of the minor Emaan Fatima has been confirmed following the DNA test, Mudassar has been proven innocent and the fake encounter has raised yet another question mark in the face of the Kasur police.
