Pakistan Today shares your concerns and is doing something about it. Our mission is to research, investigate, develop and report on issues that are either being done poorly by others or not being done at all. And then, since it would be meaningless to produce such high-quality stuff and not getting it out to the masses, we aim to distribute it for multiple audiences, using multiple platforms and media. This is how we wish to inform, explain, enlighten and enable individuals to think for themselves.

Open positions:

Content Writers/Producers

• You will be required to develop and create well-researched and accurate content for Pakistan Today’s digital and print editions;
• Have excellent writing, spelling and understanding of English grammar;
• Create concise, eye-catching and innovative headlines;
• Research and organise facts and sources;
• Consistently brainstorm and collaborate with the newsroom team for new ideas.

Freelance Feature Writers

• You will be required to write in-depth articles on various issues using a mix of news writing and narrative storytelling techniques;
• Present facts that are equally creative and informative;

Sub-Editors

• You will be required to edit copy filed by reporters/news wires and monitor news stories from the TV, internet and other news sources while ensuring that the content reads better and adheres to the house style of Pakistan Today;
• Check facts to ensure accuracy;
• Adhere to copyright laws and PT’s editorial policy;
• Write headlines that capture the essence of the story and are clever or amusing;
• Choose relevant photos to go with the reports posted on the website;
• Ensure that PT’s published content is pushed on social media platforms to enhance viewer traffic on the website and increase following on social media platforms.

In addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities, sub-editors are also encouraged to write original reports.

English to Urdu translators

• You will be required to have an excellent understanding of English and Urdu;
• Not only grasp the meaning of the languages but also know the best ways to present the words.
