MPA Nawab Sardar appears before SSP, produces evidence in defense

HYDERABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Nawab Sardar Ahmed Chandio on Thursday appeared before the Hyderabad SSP in the case of alleged involvement of killing of four people in an armed clash in Dadu last week.

After the incident, the protestors had gathered in front of SSP’s office against police’s reluctance to make Chandio a part of its investigation.

The sitting lawmaker presented evidence in his defense proving his innocence. While talking to the media, he said that he has acquired interim bail from the Sindh High Court’s (SHC) Larkana bench.

The SSP assured to visit the site of the incident to collect further evidence using the latest technology.

Earlier, a union council chairman Raees Karamullah Chandio, his son Mukhtiar Ahmed Chandio and two others were shot dead in an armed clash between Chandio tribesmen in Mehar town on January 17. According to the initial reports, the clash resulted after a land dispute in the Chandio tribe.

MPA Nawab Sardar Ahmed Chandio, his brother Nawab Burhan Chandio and five others including alleged attacker Qadu were nominated in the FIR registered by Pervaiz Ahmed Chandio, Karam­ullah’s other son.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Shah had vowed to take action against the culprits.
