KP governor attends stone-laying ceremony of college in Bara

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said Thursday that the promotion of education is necessary for the development and prosperity of any society.

He said that without education, no human being could become complete, while adding that the present government had taken concrete measures for the promotion of education in the country.

He said this while addressing the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum School and College in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency. The institution would be constructed over 100 kanals of land. Senator Momin Khan Afridi, member of National Assembly Nasir Khan Afridi, Additional Chief Secretary Sikandar Qayyum and a large number of tribal elders were also present on the occasion.

Referring to the importance of the institution, the governor said that this institution had been affiliated with Murree’s Lawrence College to enable it to maintain the highest standard of education.

Further, he said that the institution would be governed by a board of governors. He further said that on completion, the Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum School and College would offer quality education, as well as co-curricular facilities for the children at reasonable fees.

The governor appreciated the efforts of the political administration in implementing the project and expressed confidence that the people of the area would be able to receive quality educational facilities at their doorsteps. He also assured of his complete support and cooperation for the successful completion of the project.
