MNA Kundi says no PTI member has submitted resignation to Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member National Assembly Dawar Kundi has denied that party members present in the elected houses had handed over their resignations to party chairman, Imran Khan.

On Tuesday, Imran Khan had claimed that he had received resignations of party lawmakers.

Addressing a press conference, the PTI chief had said that the final decision regarding the resignations will be taken after consultations with senior PTI leaders.

Kundi, while speaking to a private media outlet, said that no member of the PTI has handed over resignation to Imran Khan.

“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and his cabinet have refused to hand over resignations on the party chairman’s demand,” he added.

The disgruntled PTI legislator said that absence of PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Chaudhry Sarwar and Mehmoodur Rasheed in the party’s Central Executive Committee is a clear indication of dissent within the party.

While addressing the joint opposition rally which was held to seek justice for the Model Town tragedy in Lahore on Wednesday, Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had announced to resign from his National Assembly seat.

“I resign from the assembly, Imran Khan come you also tender your resignation,” the AML chief had said.

Sheikh Rasheed’s decision was flanked by Imran when he was addressing the rally later in the evening.

Imran expressed ‘complete agreement’ with Sheikh Rasheed’s decision to resign from the lower house of the parliament.
