KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi Director-General, Altaf Bawany, on Tuesday decided to hear complaints regarding corruption himself on the last Thursday of each month.

In this regard, DG NAB Karachi will conduct the first ‘Khuli Katchehry’ on January 25 between 2 pm to 4 pm at his office in Cantt, Karachi.

The decision was made after the directives of NAB Chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal who had earlier urged the regional bureaus to be more efficient in disposing-off corruption cases.

The general public was also informed that any complaint that falls within the ambit of National Accountability Ordinance 1999 can be bought for hearing preferably along with evidence.

Altaf said that complainants can bring matters related to matters such as corruption done by government officials, misuse of authority on their part for personal gains, willful default on amounts owed to the banks, financial institutions or government or against any individual who has committed the offense of cheating public at large.

Altaf Bawany said that public participation is necessary for dealing with the corrupt elements.
