LWMC carries out cleanup operation in Kasur, Gujranwala

 

LAHORE: Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has started facilitating solid waste management system in Gujranwala and Kasur.

According to LWMC spokesman, LWMC facilitated Kasur administration by conducting special cleanliness operation in which over the 93-Kanal area was cleaned up with the help of five dumpers and three loaders, who made nearly 600 trips to the designated dump site and lifted all the waste in the area.

The operation was carried out in the city to help the local administration for providing ease to the locals. In collaboration with LWMC, GWMC announced sanitation week in the city.

In order to raise awareness among the citizens, an awareness drive was also a part of the campaign.

In Gujranwala, more than 594 tonnes of waste was lifted by LWMC during the operation cleanup. During the operation two dumpers, two arm rolls, two tractor loaders, four mechanical sweepers and two master pickups, along with a dedicated staff of 24 personnel took part.

The whole operation was monitored by Senior Manager Operations Zahid Mushtaq and Deputy Manager Operations Ayesha Nazir.
