LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday reserved a verdict on the maintainability of a constitutional petition seeking the disqualification of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A bench of the LHC asked the plaintiff to explain the law under which he wants the Punjab CM to be disqualified.

The petitioner argued that Shehbaz, held the post of the Punjab Mass Transit Authority chairman besides that of the chief minister and under the law and country’s Constitution, a public office holder cannot hold two posts at the same time.

The plaintiff requested the court to disqualify the chief minister under the Article 63 of the Constitution.
