First winter rainfall in Lahore adds to the chill

LAHORE: The first rainfall of the winter season lashed different cities of Punjab, including Lahore, on Tuesday and added a chill to the already cold weather.

The residents witnessed a relatively colder day as the minimum temperature in Lahore was recorded 8-degree Celsius after the rainfall.

Traffic jams were caused on some of the thoroughfares of the city, as is the norm after each rain, however, as the day progressed, the sky cleared.

Balochistan also received rainfall as a result of which the temperature dropped below freezing point in Quetta and Skardu.

In the next 24 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, light rain is expected at a few places in the country.

Light snowfall over the hills is also expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period.
