MULTAN: A patient who tested positive for seasonal influenza died in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Nishtar Hospital here on Monday.
An official told reporters that Khursheed Bibi (45), hailing from Jhang, was admitted to the hospital from where she was shifted to ICU in a critical condition. The source said that the death toll from seasonal influenza had now climbed to 27 at Nishtar Hospital after the demise of Khursheed Bibi.
He informed that only two suspected seasonal influenza patients were admitted to the hospital on Monday. He said that a total 10 patients were still admitted to the health facility.
He also said that four out of 10 patients have tested positive for the disease, while clinical reports of two were still awaited. A total of four patients were admitted to ICU while six others were under treatment in the isolation ward, the source added.
