ATC sends 20 accused to jail on judicial remand

MULTAN: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday sent 20 accused to jail on judicial remand.

Sources said that Chhab-Kalan police received information that some people were engaged in aerial firing at a musical night held in connection with a wedding party at Chak 61-15/L in Mian Channu.

When the police party reached the venue, the accused attacked them and held them hostage. Later on, a heavy contingent of police from different police stations of Mian Channu rushed to the venue and freed the policemen.

Police also arrested 20 persons, namely Tasawar, Liaqat, Haq Nawaz, Faizan, Usman, Muhammad Arif, Allah Nawaz, Shoaib, Bilal, Tasawar, Umair, Usama, Saqib Ali, Muhammad Anees, Umair Hanif, Aurangzeb, Umar Hayat, Ibrar, Muhammad Saleem and Ghulam Abbas.

Police also claimed to have recovered arms from the accused. Later, Chhab-Kalan police registered cases under sections 7 ATA, 324, 337-H, 186, 353, 427, 342, 148, and 149 against the nabbed accused.
