Mirza Naseem wins as Kasur district bar president

KASUR: Advocate Mirza Naseemul Hassan won the Kasur Bar presidency but the opposition party has announced to knock the door of Punjab Bar Council due to controversial results.

The polling was held on Saturday but the results were declared in the wee hours of Sunday after four times of counting. However, the election board chairman has issued a notification in this regard.

Mirza Naseemul Hassan contested the election on Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) platform and he was backed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawyers because PML-N could not yield its candidate for district bar president.

The runner-up candidate Advocate Sardar Fakhar was supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI).

On the seat of general secretary of Kasur DBA, Fahad Akram won by a majority.

The DBA election was delayed by one week due to untoward law and order situation after gruesome assault and murder of 7-year old Zainab.
