Dolores O’Riordan’s sudden and unexpected death left people from all over the world devastated and heartbroken. And now for the first time since her death, her boyfriend is speaking out.
Musician Olé Koretsky, who was dating O’Riordan for two years before she died, shared a message about the Irish singer’s death on his band’s website.
“My friend, partner, and the love of my life is gone. My heart is broken and it is beyond repair,” Koretsky wrote. “Dolores is beautiful. Her art is beautiful. Her family is beautiful. The energy she continues to radiate is undeniable.
“I am lost. I miss her so much. I will continue to stumble around this planet for some time knowing well there’s no real place for me here now,” the D.A.R.K. musician added.
Just weeks before the 46-year-old’s singer death, the couple rang in the New Year together.
Koretsky posted a photo on Instagram with O’Riordan on January 1 with the caption, “NYE: take away, TV, pajamas.”

The exact reasons behind the death of the singer are still unknown and an inquest into the singer’s death was opened on Friday at Westminster Coroner’s Court. Coroner’s officer Stephen Earl said O’Riordan was found unresponsive in her hotel room and was declared dead at the scene by ambulance workers.
He said a post-mortem examination has been conducted “and the court is awaiting the results of various tests that have been commissioned.”
Police say they don’t consider the death suspicious.
Funeral
The funeral of Cranberries singer is expected to take place near Limerick, Ireland on Tuesday, the church where she will be buried said.
“The Funeral Mass for the late Dolores O’Riordan… former member of the Cranberries will take place in the Church of Saint Ailbe, Ballybricken, at 11.30am on Tuesday 23 January followed by private family burial,” the church announced.
Her body will lie in repose at a funeral home close to her hometown of Limerick before Tuesday’s private service that will be attended by around 200 family members and friends.
The Cranberries achieved international success in the 1990s with their debut album Everyone Else is Doing it, So Why Can’t We? which included the hit single Linger.
The follow-up album gave rise to politically-charged single Zombie, an angry response to the deadly Northern Ireland conflict, which hit number one across Europe.
The band sold around 40 million records worldwide.
She was in London to record a version of Zombie with the hard rock band Bad Wolves, the group said on Tuesday.
O’Riordan is survived by her three children with ex-husband, former Duran Duran tour manager Don Burton.
