Islamabad police hosts farewell for SSP Kiani

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Friday hosted a farewell party in honour of the outgoing SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, who was transferred to the Intelligence Bureau by the Establishment Division on Thursday.

The party was attended by all the SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other senior police officials. The outgoing SSP was paid glowing tributes by the police officials who said that the services rendered by Kiani would be long remembered by the ICT police.

Sajid Kiani said that he tried to bridge the gap between the public and the police and launched various welfare projects for the uplifting of police officials.

He said that he served the Islamabad police for nine years and as SSP (Operations) for two years and seven months.

“What I achieved was the result of teamwork and the ICT Police always extended me full cooperation in discharging my duties. The credit for delivering well goes to the ICT Police,” he said while adding that “I always gave importance and preference to keeping a liaison with the citizens to bridge the gap between the public and the police”.

Kiani said that he tried to accomplish his duties like a true professional during his tenure and made his utmost efforts to secure the city.

He said that untiring, strenuous and unswerving efforts put in by the officers resulted in the busting of the criminal network and it helped in returning the lost tranquillity and serenity to the capital.

While saying that the learning process continues forever, Kiani asked the police officers and other employees to tell him boldly about his good work as well as the faults that may have been there during his tenure.

The policemen terming his tenure as the best, appreciated him for ensuring transparency in the policing affairs and for inculcating the idea of community policing in the capital.
