LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mehmood Khan Achakzai met in Lahore on Friday and discussed the recent political developments in Balochistan as well as the upcoming Senate elections.
The two leaders vowed to work together for the stability of the democratic system and stated that all political parties should play their part for a stable democracy.
Condemning the disrespecting of parliament in the anti-government rally held on January 17 in Lahore, both leaders showed reservations over the remarks of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and stated that democracy is paramount to ensuring progress in the country.
At Wednesday’s anti-government’ rally in Lahore, Imran Khan as well Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed cursed the parliament repeatedly which irked politicians all over the country.
Shehbaz Sharif also stated that politicians should rise above individual interest and work for the country’s interest adding that the motives of political forces who want anarchy in the country are an open secret.
