Provincial Minister for Works and Services Imdad Ali Pitafi in a ceremony held at Sindh Secretariat on Thursday distributed appointment letters among the assistant engineers (BPS 17) who have passed the examination of Sindh Public Services Commission in November 2017.

Speaking on the occasion, Imdad Ali Pitafi stated that the Sindh government believed in merit and these 21 assistant engineers have been appointed totally on merit. While congratulating new assistant engineers, the provincial minister stated that the newly-appointed officers would work with all zeal and enthusiasm.

Talking to the media on the occasion, Pitafi said that judiciary was only active in Sindh province otherwise in all the other provinces the situation was entire different. He said, ‘We respect judiciary but it is constitutional right of Sindh government to appoint inspector general of police.

He said that it was matter of shame that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed have abused the parliament. ‘We the parliamentarians are representatives of people of Pakistan’, he added.

To a question, Imdad Pitafi said that it was not a right time to resign from the parliament but the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would have to take the decision in this regard. Works and Services Secretary Aijaz Ahmed Memon and other officers were also present of the occasion.
