LAHORE: Maqsood Ahmad, a retired lieutenant general of the Pakistan Army, has been appointed chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), according to a notification issued here on Wednesday.
The notification signed by Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana stated that Maqsood Ahmad has been appointed for a period of three years under the provisions of Article 105 and 242 (1B) of the constitution.
Maqsood Ahmad belonged to the Frontier Force Regiment in the 61st PMA Long Course during April 1980. After reaching the rank of major general, he headed the 12th Infantry Division in Murree. In 2013, Maqsood Ahmad was promoted to the rank of the lieutenant general.
Not only that, he also served as the Corps Commander of IV Corps in Lahore. In August 2013, Lt Gen Maqsood was made military adviser for the UN Peacekeeping Operations. He had also served as the deputy director general of the Inter-Services Intelligence.
