ISLAMABAD: Pakistan embassy in Bangkok could be involved in issuing passports to foreign nationals, reports a local English daily.
This accusation comes from a former Pak embassy employee in Bangkok, Ayazuddin, who further claims that the embassy officials resorted to harassment after he attempted to uncover the illegal practice.
He, however, revealed what was going on in the embassy in a letter to the director general passports in which he demanded a proper probe into the issue.
“Passports were issued to some other non-entities who were not Pakistanis,” Ayazuddin stated in his letter.
He claimed that he was repatriated on a fake complaint of harassment when he tried to stop the malpractice. He also wrote in the letter that the Pakistani community in Thailand had expressed serious concerns about the behaviour of the Pakistan embassy staff.
