LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) senior leader and former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has said that election of Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo is a reflection of trust in his party and this opportunity has come with the blessings of the Almighty, good intentions, service, sincerity and dedication to work.

Addressing a press conference along with Bizenjo and other party leaders in Quetta, Elahi said that they are grateful to parties and members for their support. He added that the young, but the determined chief minister, in a limited time, will do for the province and people that has not been done earlier.

He will also strengthen the party and activate workers in the province. “Next tenure will also be ours. We will bring together all Muslim leaguers under the flag of PML-Q,” Elahi added.

Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, on the special invitation of newly-elected Chief Minister Bizenjo, reached Quetta and was welcomed by the chief minister along with Central Secretary General Tariq Bashir Cheema, Senator Kamil Ali Agha and Hafiz Ammar Yasir.

Afterwards, he held detailed talks and one on one meeting as well and addressed the workers in Balochistan House.

Pervez Elahi also expressed the hope that the chief minister, despite the shortage of time, will do work which previous chief ministers could not do. “He will visit far-flung and small places also and will be visible at all such places where no chief minister has gone so far,” he added.

Balochistan will be a corruption free province, said Elahi, adding, “We have very deep relations with the people of Balochistan.” He went on to say: “I am sure the chief minister has the capability to make everyone his own and take them along. No doubt he is young but possesses very determined personality and has the dedication and spirit to do something. The entire party and our prayers are with him.”

Pervez Elahi also said that “we have contacts also with other parties of the province”.

Responding to a question that how those having five seats have come into power, he said that this is a matter of the assembly members, and to say how they have come into power is, in fact, an insult of the assembly members.

Replying to another question about the dissolution of the assembly, he said, “We believe in democracy. This tenure is ours and the next chief minister will also be Bizenjo.”

He also said that the protest for securing justice for the victims of Model Town tragedy is a constitutional and legal right and nobody can snatch it.

Pervez Elahi also expressed gratitude to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Akhtar Mengal, Israr Zehri, and their parties JUI (F), BNP (Mengal), BNP (Awami), ANP, National Party, Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen, PML-N members, and especially to independent MPA Nawabzada Tariq Magsi for supporting Bizenjo to become the chief minister.
