LAHORE: The life at The Mall of the provincial capital was made paralysed due to the protest of the elected vice chairmen of the union councils from all over Punjab outside the Punjab Assembly at the Faisal Chowk on Monday.
The charged protesters were carrying placards showing their demands while they were chanting slogans against the provincial government. The leaders of the association said that since they were elected they had not given their rights.
The protestors staged sit-in at the Faisal Chowk which caused a huge traffic mess in the capital city. Being the passage of the city, the traffic was diverted on different roads and arteries which affected the traffic flow badly. Many ambulances carrying patients were also seemed finding ways to reach the hospitals.
On the other hand, no alternative traffic roadmap by traffic police could be seen following the situation. However, traffic wardens were seemed helpless in controlling the situation.
