The wedding reception of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s son has cost Bahauddin Zakariya University in Multan its ground, as over 25,000 guests’ accommodation ruined the Sports ground.

To accommodate such a large number, two grounds were merged by cutting off the chains and breaking the wall separating them.

Following the incident, the students of the university launched a social media campaign against the administration over the incident.

The ground was reportedly rented out at Rs 5,000. The director of public relations at the university, Dr Shoaib, said the university had only given permission for the wedding reception to be conducted in the ground. If any destruction was caused then an action will be taken against those responsible for the act, he added.
