Bannu Twenty20 Cricket Premier League from Febraury 10

PESHAWAR: The first edition of the Bannu Twenty20 Cricket Premier League will commence from February 10 at Mandan Park ground with leading cricketers like Kamran Akmal, Muhammad Irfan, Umar Gul and Usman Shinwari representing various teams from all across Pakistan.

This was stated by the league’s Chief Organizer Ihsan Ullah Shaheen while addressing a media briefing in Peshawar on Saturday.

He said that foolproof security arrangements will be made for the event and added that arrangements in this connection have already been started.

Organising Committee General Secretary Tariq Ali Shah said that the aim and objective of the event is to highlight a softer image of Bannu which is considered as a hub of various sports.

While commenting on the lack of proper sports facilities in Bannu, he said that “There is no dearth of talent in the region. The real problem in the region is lack of proper facilities. If the people of Bannu are provided due facilities the players will excel at national and international

He said that “Players like Khushdil Khan, who was given an opportunity to play for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Premier League (PSL), have the potential to come up at international levels if provided due opportunities.”

He further added that “We had earlier organised an event at junior level but this time decided to hold the event by involving first class, national and international players.”

City Falcon, City Stars, Mehish Khail Cobra, Mandan Sultan, Akram Hunters, Domail Markoor, Meeran Gladiators, Eshaki Worriers, Sorani Thunders, Pakhtunkhwa XI, Baka Khail Lions  are some of the teams taking part in the event.
