LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former prime minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that only giving statements on molestation of innocent Zainab in Kasur will lead to nothing.

In a statement issued here Thursday, the former president said that during the tenure of late General Ziaul Haq, the culprit of Pappoo abuse case was hanged publicly in Chauburji Chowk Lahore after which no such incident had occurred for years together.

“Like Pappoo case, those committing such heinous crimes should be hanged publicly, and legislation should be done for setting up of special courts, like the army courts,” he added.

The PML chief further said that all remember the bloody massacre of Model Town, adding that after this tragedy, Chaudhry Parvez Elahi was the first to reach Minhajul Quran.

“Parvez Elahi had told me how brutally blood of innocents, including a pregnant woman and female students, was shed. Policemen entered the house with their shoes on and committed blasphemy of the siparas of the Holy Quran, and, when they were asked not to do that, they fired bullets on women,” he said. “And because of this very reason, I had also demanded setting up special courts for hearing such heinous cases, so that barbaric, merciless and oppressive accused be hanged publicly.”

If the rulers had heeded this suggestion, he said, numerous boys and girls, as well as innocent people, would have been saved from becoming victims of such barbaric culprits.
