MULTAN: Another patient, who was tested positive for seasonal influenza, died at the Nishtar Hospital here on Thursday.
An official source told APP that Maryam, 45, of Multan was admitted to the health facility from where she was shifted to the ICU in critical condition. On Thursday, she died in the ICU, he said, and added that the death toll rose to 18 at the Nishtar Hospital with Maryam’s demise.
He informed that 13 suspected seasonal influenza patients had landed in the hospital and a total of 32 patients were still admitted.
He said that 14 out of 32 had been tested positive for the disease while clinical reports of 15 were still awaited.
Two patients were admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) while 30 were under treatment in isolation ward, the source maintained. One patient had been tested negative, he concluded.
