LAHORE: Government schools in at least 34 districts in Punjab presently lack an adequate number of toilets for children, revealed a report on government schools’ rankings of districts and divisions for the second quarter of 2017-18.

According to a report by a local English daily, this ranking was done as a part of the Chief Minister’s School Reforms Roadmap which is responsible for collecting wide-ranging indicators to measure the performance of public schools in the province.

Rest of the 33 districts failed to achieve the set targets for any month.

12 districts achieved the set target of hygiene i.e. 80 per cent for all of three months, seven districts for two months and six districts achieved the targets for a single month during the quarter. 11 districts failed to achieve the hygiene targets for any one month in the whole quarter.
