Tahir-ul-Qadri in Pakistan to conduct Imran Khan’s Nikah: Capt (r) Safdar

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar said on Tuesday that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul-Qadri is visiting Pakistan to “conduct the Nikah of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.”

Talking to media outside the accountability court, Safdar, said that Imran Khan “has the permission to marry four times in Islam,” while taking a jab at PTI leader’s latest marriage controversy.

He also said that Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid is playing the role of an “old matchmaker who goes around villages seeking suitable matches.”

The PTI chairman welcomed 2018 by allegedly marrying Bushra Maneka—daughter-in-law of Ghulam Muhammad Maneka—on the night of January 1 in Lahore, and came straight from there the next day to appear before the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad that granted him bail.

Mufti Saeed, a member of PTI core committee, allegedly read the nikkah of the couple. It’s pertinent to mention here that Saeed was also the nikkah khawan when Imran publicly entered into marriage with Reham Khan on January 8, 2015.

PTI rebutted reports of Imran Khan’s third marriage but said that the PTI leader has ‘sent a proposal’ to Bushra Maneka.
