ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Tuesday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and its leadership will not opt for any deal to shy away from courts or compromise on principles.

“We will stand firm on principles. We will neither opt for any deal or compromise nor give any relaxation to conspirators,” he said, while talking to media in outside the accountability court hearing into graft case against Sharif family.

Talal Chaudhry said those conspiring against the government desire that the Senate elections are not held on time. “Qadri is simply a face to show the people. Actually, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are behind the moves for unrest.”

Commenting on the no-confidence move against Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri in the provincial assembly, he said that “no confidence move against Zehri is a move against democracy”.

“Instead of talking about the United States’ drone strikes, these politicians are talking of wrapping up an elected provincial government,” the minister lamented.

He said that the government will not step back from its principled stand no matter how many ‘Canadians (Qadris)’ are imported to exert pressure on the government.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri has announced to launch a nationwide protest movement for resignations of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Law Minister Rana Sanaullah from January 17 for their involvement in Model Town carnage which claimed 14 lives.

Talking about reports of Imran Khan’s marriage, Chaudhry said that Imran does not feel any difference between the “abode of his spiritual leader and Gymkhana club”.

“He lacks the capacity to understand the difference between the residence of a spiritual leader and a club,” Talal stated.

He said Imran Khan is perhaps the first follower who intruded the sanctuary of a spiritual leader and occupied it.

After a report carried by a media group claimed that PTI chief and Bushra Maneka, Khan’s spiritual leader, had married, a clarification was released by PTI, saying that the party chief had only proposed marriage to her.
