FAISALABAD: Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said that Pakistan will not take anyone’s dictation on its foreign policy, referring to the repeated US criticism on the country.
Speaking to the media, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader said that Pakistan needs to be very careful about how it engages with the United States (US), adding that the PPP only wants an independent foreign policy.
Shah mentioned that there is a huge lobby in the US that’s against US President Donald Trump’s position on Pakistan.
He lamented that it was unfortunate that the government could not manage to appoint a foreign minister in the first four years of its tenure. He reiterated that elections should be held as per the law and Constitution and on time.
He added that Senate elections will be held according to their schedule.
About the PPP’s alliance with Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri, he said that his party wanted justice for the Model Town incident victims from day one.
