PESHAWAR: The American Consul General (CG) in Peshawar, Stephen Fakan, met with the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra at governor’s house here on Tuesday.
He remained with the governor for some time and discussed matters pertaining to the well-being of the people of KP and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). The governor said that the reforms are being done in FATA to bring the people of the area on par with other citizens, and it is part of an effort to mainstream the tribal residents.
The governor said that people of FATA and KP have rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism, and the international community should duly recognize the role of Pakistan in this respect.
While referring to the implementation of FATA reformation plan, the governor stated that the “change is the government’s priority.” He maintained that an equal treatment of FATA residents in all social sectors would be ensured.
Mr Stephen Fakan expressed his gratitude to the governor for giving him time.
