BADIN: Two newborn dead bodies were found from under a heap of garbage in proximity to Badin’s Indus Hospital.
Eyewitnesses and sources from within the hospital reported that the infants’ bodies were heavily mutilated after being attacked by stray dogs.
The incident was followed by a ruckus created by the citizens of Badin, which is the hometown of Sindh Health Minister Dr Sikandar Ali Mandhro.
A civil surgeon at the hospital, Dr Abdul Sattar on being questioned by the media asserted that the bodies were dumped inside the hospital’s premises by outsiders and denied the possible involvement of anyone from the hospital staff in the incident.
The hospital’s administration did not accede to the media’s request for visiting the site where the bodies were discovered.
Badin District Health Officer Dr Mehboob Khowaja, however, assured media personnel that he had ordered an enquiry into the incident and that the media personnel would be provided details once the report is submitted.
He said that the investigators will also look to determine whether the babies were killed before their bodies were dumped or not.
