PESHAWAR: Peshawar district administration in collaboration with the Livestock Department conducted raids in different parts of Peshawar on Tuesday and arrested 12 milk sellers for adulterating milk.
On the directives of Peshawar Deputy Commissioner (DC), Islamzeb, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (ACC), Salahuddin and officers of Livestock Department along with the mobile milk testing laboratory checked sellers in Tehkal, Jehangirabad and University Road.
During the checking, the joint team checked the samples of milk and arrested 12 milk sellers after sufficient amount of water was found in it.
The DC has directed all AACs to collect samples from milk sellers on regular basis to send them to the laboratory for analysis to ensure the safety of the people of the city from adulterated milk.
Meanwhile, the teams of the district administration also raided various restaurants and arrested the managers of various restaurants.
The checking teams also visited the kitchens of these restaurants and expressed anguish over poor cleanliness conditions.
