KARACHI: Police arrested a robber in injured condition after an alleged encounter in the Malir area of the metropolis in the wee hours of Monday.
According to police sources, a gang of three robbers, including Zulfiqar, were looting citizens at gunpoint near Wilayat Ali Shah shrine in Malir, when a police team reached the scene. The accused opened fire on the police team which was retaliated by the police.
During the shootout, the robber, Zulfiqar sustained bullet injuries. Police arrested him in injured condition and recovered a TT pistol with rounds, and four mobile phones from his possession. Two accomplice of the accused managed to flee from the scene.
The arrested robber was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.
