Investigation of murder reveals it may be case of honour killing

KARACHI: Karachi police on Saturday suspected the murder of a 30-year-old man last month in Saeedabad area to be a case of honour killing.

Ghulam Mustafa was found stabbed to death on a street in Saeedabad area on December 12, said West Zone-Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi.

The police were informed by Mustafa’s relatives that one of his paternal uncles had disappeared after the murder. It was learnt that his uncle also lived in the same street as his.

The police later managed to arrest him from Lahore.

During interrogation, the held suspect “confessed” that he killed his nephew on the suspicion that he (the nephew) allegedly had illicit ties with his wife, revealed SSP Siddiqi.
