PTI submits adjournment motion in NA against Trump

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on Friday, submitted an adjournment motion against the United States (US) President Donald Trump in National Assembly (NA).

The motion stated that the current Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has failed to give an appropriate reply to the US administration, who wants to blame Pakistan for its failures.

It further demanded the NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, to urgently hold a debate on this matter in the parliament.

A resolution has also been tabled by PTI in the Punjab Assembly against Donald Trump’s allegations, stating that Pakistan has rendered so many sacrifices for the elimination of terrorism after 9/11.

“Trump equally ignored the efforts and policies of Pakistan towards war against terrorism,” said PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui, and added that, “Trump is levelling allegations as an international villain to hide America’s failure.”

PTI’s action came in response to Donald Trump’s tweet in which he categorically emphasised that the US will “no more” give aid to Pakistan. Trump wrote that the US foolishly gave more than US $33 billion in aid to Pakistan over the past 15 years and accused Pakistan of only providing lies and deceit in return.

The US President further alleged that Pakistan provides safe haven to the terrorists and does not cooperate with the US in its anti-terrorist operation against the banned outfits in Afghanistan.

“They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!” he tweeted.

Earlier in August, Trump had warned Pakistan that the US will no longer tolerate Pakistan offering protection to extremists. “We can no longer be silent about Pakistans safe havens for terrorist organisations,” Trump declared, outlining a new Washington security strategy in South Asia.
