14 perish as influenza continues claiming lives in Multan

MULTAN: The outbreak of seasonal influenza has continued to take lives in Multan as at least 14 people have been fallen prey to the disease in three weeks.

The increasing cases of seasonal influenza, among which three doctors are also included, are creating fear among the administration of Nishtar Hospital as the disease is rapidly spreading across the metropolis.

The doctors have advised the residents to take precautionary measures and also urged them to hold their proper checkup for timely identification of the disease.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the spread of influenza in the province and issued directives that all possible measures for the prevention of influenza should be taken and advised the relevant authorities to organise awareness campaign regarding the illness.
