‘Khadim-e-Punjab’ Qirat, Naat, Speech competition on Seerat-u-Nabi to be held in January

ISLAMABAD: In an apparent move to counter anti-government propaganda by some religious parties, the Punjab government has decided to hold ‘Khadim-e-Punjab Shehbaz Sharif Qirat, Naat and Seerat-u-Nabi Speech competition 2018’ among the students across the province.

According to a letter available with Pakistan Today, the competent authority has desired to conduct Khadim-e-Punjab Shehbaz Sharif Qirat, Naat and speech on “Seerat-u-Nabi” Competitions 2018 among the students of Punjab from January 8, 2018, till January 16.

Public Instruction Punjab director in his letter to the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) and the District Education Officers in Punjab directed that the competitions of Qirat, Naat and Speech have been scheduled in all schools at the Union Council, Markaz, Tehsil, District, Division and provincial level.

The letter reveals that the Qirat, Naat and Speech and prize distribution would be conducted in all Union Councils at Cluster High Schools on January 9, 2018, on January 10 at Tehsil, on January 12 at District and on January 16 at Division, while at the provincial level, it would be held on January 18.

It was further directed to the respective CEOs and Focal Persons to ensure the smooth conduct of all events.

It was directed that the administrators of the competitions shall invite prominent Islamic Scholar and the notable members civil society on the recommendations and approval of the Deputy Commissioner and CEO as the chief guests.
