Train crushes youth distracted by phone call

FAISALABAD: A 30-year-old man was killed by a train on Thursday while he was engrossed speaking on his mobile phone.

According to police, Shahid was walking on the railway track with his hands-free device plugged into his ears. Due to the loud noise, Shahid was distracted as a result of which he was unable to hear an old man who tried to warn him about an oncoming train.

The train blared its horn several times but unfortunately, the young man couldn’t hear the warning and died on the spot as the train ran over him.

Police handed over Shahid’s body to his relatives after an initial examination.
