15 more districts to benefit from PM’s health initiative

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC) Saira Afzal Tarar directed to start Prime Minister’s National Health Programme immediately in 15 more districts.

She issued the directives during a meeting held here on Tuesday to review the progress made by the National Health Programme in the country. The meeting was chaired by Saira Afzal Tarar, which was attended by NHSRC secretary, Health director-general, State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan chairman along with his team and officials from NADRA and the Punjab Health Initiative Management Company.

During the meeting, the minister was given a presentation by the programme management on the status of the initiative’s implementation in all districts. During the meeting, the minister directed to start the PMNHP in 12 new districts at earliest. The programme will be started in 12 new districts in Punjab including Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Lodhran, Multan, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Hafizabad (Punjab), one from Sindh (Noshwroferoze) and two from Balochistan (Killa Abdullah and Khuzdar).

The minister reassured the participants that no stone would be left un-turned to improve services for the poor beneficiaries. She assured to take all necessary actions in the light of the PM’s directives of expanding National Health Programme across the country to provide free of cost health insurance to poor families whose daily income is below Rs 200 per day.
