Pir Hameed-ud-Din Sialvi said on Sunday that he is not interested in Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) strategic protest demonstrations against the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government since his only interest is in the Khatm-e-Nabuwat issue.

While speaking to the media following an All Pakistan Ulema Mashaikh Conference in Taunsa Sharif, the spiritual leader stated that he was not motivated by any political motives and instead was only concerned with his struggle for protecting the Khatm-e-Nabuwat (the finality of the Prophethood).

Sialvi stated that neither had Tahir-ul-Qadri invited him to join any of the protests nor does he plan on attending the demonstrations.

When asked about the issuance of a deadline to sack Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah to the Punjab government, he said, “We haven’t given the deadline; instead they [Punjab government] asked for respite.”

“Our demand is Rana Sanaullah’s resignation and protection of Khatm-e-Nabuwat… we don’t belong to any political party,” he remarked.
